Over 60 NDC activists undergo vetting

About sixty-two activists of the NDC including some incumbent executives in the Eastern Region are undergoing vetting to enable them to contest the upcoming Regional Elections scheduled for the first of September.

The contestants are vying for 16 positions including that of Chairmanship, Secretary, Treasurer, Organizer and Zongo Caucus.

Chairman of the Vetting Committee, Kofi Amoatey, said the exercise is expected to last for five days and a report submitted to the party's headquarters for action. The aspirants, he said should be registered party members.

They are also expected to spell out their vision to party members. Mr Amoatey, who is also the MP for the Yilo Krobo Constituency said the party needs visionary leaders who will help to recapture power in the 2020 elections.

Mr Amoatey appealed to those who will sail through the vetting process to work towards uniting the grassroot.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of the NDC Johnson Asiedu Nketia has announced his intention to contest the General Secretary position of the NDC.

Mr Asiedu Nketia however has asked anyone who wants to contest him to do so freely.
